The Derby High School Year 8s enjoyed an action packed day on the Manchester University Year 8 Gateway Trip. Visual illusions, scientifically testing the strength of chocolate bars and cracking Icelandic codes were all features of the day. Each of these workshops represented a different area of study at university either STEM, Humanities or Biology, Medical and Health.
The questioning of the University Ambassadors and University Alphabet Challenge all increased the students’ knowledge of university life and study. The students worked in groups alongside other schools. Hard work and a clear focus ensured the students immensely enjoyed the day.
