The Derby High School Science and Arts College will provide a high standard of education and care for all pupils.

We aim to:

• Create a school atmosphere and ethos in which courtesy, care, understanding and respect for others, both individuals and groups, are important for all within the school and the wider community.
• Promote self-confidence and self-esteem on the part of all pupils and to encourage individuals to accept personal responsibility for their behaviour.
• Produce self-assured, qualified and responsible citizens who are prepared for life after school.
• Welcome pupils to the school and to maintain effective links with primary schools, post-16 organisations and the community at large.
• Maintain strong links between the school and parents.
• Use the resources provided as efficiently as possible and to promote care of the premises and its environment on the part of all who use and work in the school.
• Create the special ethos of a Science and Arts College.
