All pupils studying Art in Years 10 and 11 will follow a course leading to the GCSE in Art and Design Unendorsed Syllabus.
The ability to draw and to find enjoyment in drawing is an essential requirement for the course as this provides a sound basis for the expression and development of ideas.

Pupils will follow the Art and Design Unendorsed Syllabus which offers a broadly based course requiring experience in several aspects of the subject using a variety of media, i.e. painting and drawing, fabric printing, textiles, clay work, printmaking and collage, digital photography and Computer Aided Design.

As from September 2007 The Art & Design Department offer an engaging new two year project based course that will enable students to explore the professional world of Art & Design. Students will develop their understanding and skills of 2D and 3D materials and techniques through specialist work related projects to prepare them for career opportunities in the field of Art & Design.
