Introduction |
The unit of work allows students to develop skills and techniques in video design and editing whilst learning of online dangers and how to counter these issues if and when they arise. |
This unit of work develops the students’ presentational skills and teaches them how to use a number of techniques and skills to improve their presentation of their work whilst developing confidence. |
The unit of work teaches students the main components of a computer system and allows them to develop a clearer understanding of computers and their origin. |
The unit of work teaches students the main concepts of databases and its use. Students are instructed to search and store records and look at how a basic database is constructed. |
The unit of work introduces students to spreadsheets and the methods used to add simple formula and create graphs and charts to manage basic finances. |
This unit of work creates a transition between primary school’s development of sequence control. Students are shown basic python code constructs and instructed to add and develop basic lines of code. |

The unit of work is developed to allow students to understand the dangers of using computers to store and transmit data electronically. Allowing students to understand how to measure, control and manage electronic data. |
This unit of work focuses on the main elements of a computer system. Introducing the concepts of binary, storage and the convergence of new technologies. |
Students are instructed and taught to demonstrate the methods required to create a fully functional database using all of the following concepts; field names, data types, field sizes, validation rules and validation text. |
During this unit of work students will be taught to include While and For loops to create functional codes. Students will be able to develop codes that will carry out simple functional tasks and showcase evidence of using key techniques used in coding. |
Students will embark on a spreadsheet project allowing them to explore techniques and skills that will allow them to manage and record financial data for a given purpose. |
This unit of work will introduce students to HTML coding and allow them to explore web content, whilst developing a basic web-site using hyperlinks and page properties. |

This unit of work allows students to embark on 2 small coding projects that allow them to independently create and restore lines of code for a given outcome. |
This unit of work introduces students to the key components that establish a network. Students will be taught the basis of a client server, connection types and network topologies. |
During this unit of work students will be taught to write HTML code and create CSS files and templates. Students will be fully immersed in professional industry led web development strategies and techniques. |
During this unit of work students will to develop frame by frame animation and add motion tweenings to animations, whilst developing effective planning and publication skills. |
