Computing Curriculum Map

How you can help your child in Key Stage Three:

  • Access to Resources: Make sure your child has access to a computing device and the internet for research and completing homework.  If you don’t have this at home, then encourage your child to attend Homework Club every day after school.
  • Stay Informed: Ask your child to explain the work they are completing in computing at school. Check their progress on Microsoft Teams.
  • Support Safe Online Practices: Teach your child about internet safety and the importance of protecting their personal information online.

How you can help your child in Key Stage Four (OCR):

  • Encourage Independent Learning: Motivate your child to explore computer science topics beyond the classroom, such as online courses or coding projects.
  • Discuss Real-World Applications: Talk about how computer science is used in various careers and everyday life.
  • Encourage practice: motivate them to regularly practise exam questions and case studies.
