Computing
What your child will learn in Computing:
How you can help your child in Key Stage Three:
- Access to Resources: Make sure your child has access to a computing device and the internet for research and completing homework. If you don’t have this at home, then encourage your child to attend Homework Club every day after school.
- Stay Informed: Ask your child to explain the work they are completing in computing at school. Check their progress on Microsoft Teams.
- Support Safe Online Practices: Teach your child about internet safety and the importance of protecting their personal information online.
How you can help your child in Key Stage Four (OCR):
- Encourage Independent Learning: Motivate your child to explore computer science topics beyond the classroom, such as online courses or coding projects.
- Discuss Real-World Applications: Talk about how computer science is used in various careers and everyday life.
- Encourage practice: motivate them to regularly practise exam questions and case studies.
