How you can help your child in Key Stage Three:

  • Discuss with them the topics they have been learning at school.
  • Discuss with them any History you are interested in and how it may link with what they have learnt about in class.
  • Encourage them to watch documentaries on the areas they are interested in, preferably on more reputable sources such as BBC iPlayer or Netflix.
  • Encourage the students to read books around the areas they are interested in or more general books such as the Horrible Histories series.
  • Consider historical locations you could visit nearby or museums such as the Natural History Museum or Imperial War Museum North.

How you can help your child in Key Stage Four (Edexcel):

  • Encourage them to purchase the revision guides from the school library.
  • Assist their revision by discussing with them on any activity they have been revising and encourage them to teach you about it.
