Inspired to Make a Difference

Our Partners

We relish opportunities to work in partnership with schools, community groups, professionals and business.

In 2003 we became the country’s First Science and Arts College. In 2008 we were selected to become a Creative Partnerships Change School and In 2009 we became the lead school in the authority for the Creative and Media diploma receiving funding for a bespoke Creative Arts suite. We were awarded Artsmark Platinum in 2019 and In recent years we have achieved Rights Respecting Schools Staus and become a Bee-Well school working on programmes such as Well-being Through Sport.

As founding members of Bury Local Cultural Educational Partnership we are at the heart of discussions and new careers, creativity and well-being initiatives.

Our work with SEERIH (Science & Engineering Education Research and Innovation Hub) at Manchester University, for over a decade has allowed our staff and students to take a leading role with up to half a million participants at a time in countries around the world. Our work has allowed us to connect with Ashoka, a global changemaker organisation with over nineteen thousand fellows. Our Head student represents the UK on Ashoka’s Youth Panel.

Our partnership with The Northwest Comino Creative Consortium has allowed us to forge exciting partnerships with thousands of students participating in an extensive programme of real-world learning opportunities. We have led The Manchester Day Parade, showcased work at prestigious venues such as The Lowry, Manchester Museum, Home and regularly at our local theatre, The Met. Students have presented to international advertising agencies, been to the RSA Young Designer of the Year Award finals in London, debated with politicians in Westminster Palace, presented to The House of Lords to discuss why creativity on the curriculum is essential and paid a visit to Windsor Castle and No 11 to discuss the importance of Creativity with George Osborne Last year we attended a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate our contribution to DofE.

We have collaborated with organisations such as Forth Education to design new and innovative ways of learning using real world challenges to widen a young person’s horizons, giving them agency in their learning.

We have won numerous awards including a TES Award for Creativity and Science, BBC Regenerators Award: Best Secondary School for creative approach to sustainable living, in the final 20 schools in The Goldsmiths’ Community Award, RHS ‘Green Plan It Challenge’, ITV Creatives, our students have been nominated for Best Director and Best Under 16 film in the Aldridge UTC global film awards. Further successes include competition wins with GMP, Metrolink, our local council.
