🤝 A Very Warm Welcome to Friends of The Derby

Dear Parents, Carers, School Staff, Alumni, and Community Friends,

Friends of The Derby is our vibrant school community group that brings together parents, carers, staff, alumni, and local supporters to create stronger links between home, school, and the wider community.

All parents and carers automatically become members when their child joins our school — and everyone in the community is welcome to get involved.

What We Do

Friends of The Derby exists to:

Strengthen the connection between families, staff, and students
Create opportunities for enrichment, inclusion, and celebration
Raise vital funds that support our school’s development

Our Vision

Working together to make every student’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all students.

Our Aims

Bring together parents, teachers, governors, alumni, and community partners
Raise funds to expand opportunities and improve outcomes for students
Enrich student experiences with trips, guest speakers, and cultural activities
Support and promote equality, diversity, and inclusion across the school
Build on strong relationships between school and families

How We Do It

We organise a wide range of events and initiatives, including:

Family and social events (e.g. afternoon teas, garden parties, makers’ markets)
Performances and exhibitions
Volunteering and environmental projects
Fundraising and school community campaigns
Supporting extracurricular activities
Creating platforms to share ideas and support student achievement

Without Friends of The Derby, events like our Garden Parties, Winter Festivals, Production Cafés, and Community Environmental Projects wouldn’t be possible. We are deeply grateful for the commitment and energy of everyone involved.
