A VERY WARM WELCOME TO FRIENDS OF THE DERBY

Dear Parents, Carers, School Staff, Alumni and Community Friends,

All parents and members of the school community can get involved in Friends of The Derby. All parents are automatically members when their children join our school.

‘Friends of The Derby’ exists to provide closer links between home, school and our local community. It is a fun way to bring staff, parents, community friends, alumni and students together in support of a common goal.

Currently, our efforts are focused on raising money to purchase a new school minibus that we desperately need in order to continue with our community engagement and extensive student enrichment programme.

Friends of The Derby plays a vital part in the school community. This is your chance to hear and see how the funds you have helped to raise have been used for the benefit of the students at our school. Without ‘Friends of The Derby’ there would be no Garden Parties, Winter Festivals, Makers’ Markets, Community Environmental Work, Production Cafes. As a school we value all the effort and hard work of Friends of The Derby to raise money for the school’s benefit.

Raise funds to strengthen the range of choices to offer greater chances to students.

Expand students culture capital with trips and guest speakers.

Support and promote equality and diversity within the school commun

Organise informative, social and academic events: volunteer work, family events, working with parents’ events, afternoon tea, sporting events, performances and exhibitions.

Support extra curricular activities.

Share ideas on how best to support our students so they can achieve their potential
